HVEN is pleased to present “SCULPTING ARCHITECTURE,” a solo exhibition by architectural designer Aldi Ibrahim.
Architecture is most often encountered as space we move through. Yet before it becomes a building, it exists as an idea, an exploration of form, rhythm, tension, and void. During his time at Kengo Kuma & Associates, Ibrahim began translating these spatial investigations into objects at the scale of the body.
Through parametric modeling, 3D printed wax, and sterling silver casting, each work becomes a condensed fragment of architecture and its narrative. Capturing both structural intensity and subtle spatial nuance, the pieces exist between disciplines, neither architecture nor jewelry, but architectural wearables.
Alongside the wearable works, a 1.2 meter sculpture renders the same language at architectural scale, inviting the viewer to circle, enter with the eyes, and read the architecture embedded within.
HVENは、建築デザイナー アルディ・イブラヒムによる個展「SCULPTING ARCHITECTURE」を開催いたします。
建築は、私たちが移動する空間として最も頻繁に出会う存在です。しかし建物となる以前、建築は形態、リズム、緊張感、そして虚空を探求するひとつのアイデアとして存在しています。隈研吾建築設計事務所在籍中、イブラヒムはこうした空間的探究を身体のスケールへと翻訳し始めました。
パラメトリックモデリングや3Dプリントによるワックス原型、スターリングシルバー鋳造を通して制作された作品は、建築とその物語を凝縮した断片となります。構造的な強度と繊細な空間性をあわせ持つそれらは、建築でもジュエリーでもない、分野のあわいに存在する「建築的ウェアラブル」として提示されます。
本展ではウェアラブル作品に加え、同じ造形言語を1.2メートルのスケールで展開した彫刻作品も発表。観る者に周囲を巡り、視線で入り込み、その内部に潜む建築を読み解く体験を促します。
