HVEN Gallery is pleased to present “OVERTHINKERS,” a solo exhibition by Tokyo-based visual artist Tania Herman. @tania.herman

Overthinkers is an ongoing figurative sculptural project exploring doubt, anxiety, and the tension of living with uncertainty. The works reflect on a state in which endless possibilities create intense inner conflict, while the body remains suspended in inaction.

The head becomes both a physical subject and a space where possibilities are generated, examined, rejected and reconsidered. Through variations in form, posture, surface and spatial positioning, the sculptures give physical presence to the tension between thought and action: nothing appears to happen, yet internally everything is in motion.

「Overthinkers」は、疑念や不安、不確実性とともに生きることから生まれる緊張を探求する、継続的な人物彫刻のプロジェクトです。無数の可能性が激しい内的葛藤を生み出す一方で、身体は行動に移れず、その場に留まり続ける状態に目を向けています。

本作では頭部を、可能性が生まれ、検討され、否定され、再び考え直される場所として捉えています。形、姿勢、質感、空間における配置の変化を通して、思考と行動の間に生まれる緊張を物理的な形として表現します。外からは何も起きていないように見えても、その内側ではすべてが動き続けています。
