HAODORI “AWAKENING”
2026.4.2 - 2026.4.30
Opening Reception: 4.2 (Thu) 19:00 - 00:00
HVEN is pleased to present “Awakening,” a pop-up exhibition by HAODORI, a contemporary wagashi project by Tokyo-based artist Xenia Mylash.
本展のテーマは「Awakening(覚醒)」です。
HAODORI explores Japanese confectionery as a contemporary artistic medium, creating sculptural wagashi that blur the boundary between culinary craft and visual art. Through delicate materials, translucency, and form, the works become transient objects of contemplation.
The exhibition revolves around the theme of awakening, a quiet moment of emergence between sleep and awareness, winter and spring, memory and presence.
Abstract forms resembling floating membranes, droplets, or translucent organisms appear as fragile structures suspended in time. Some evoke the soft opening of a flower, while others suggest the gradual unfolding of thoughts and emotions.
Through an experience that moves from visual perception to taste, the works invite visitors to engage with wagashi as an ephemeral form of art, existing briefly between sight, flavor, and memory.
We warmly invite you to join us for the opening night on April 2 from 7pm to midnight.
Music from 8pm and from 9pm there will be a human table performance, guests are served wagashi from the body in a quiet, ritual-like setting.
A special tea ceremony experience will take place on April 26, save the date. More information coming soon.
